Student (High School)
Purpose: Maintains service operations by inspecting and maintaining vehicles.
Work Schedule: Must have open availability any time, any day of the week. Be able to work irregular work schedules.
Responsibilities: (may include but are not limited to)
Perform Preventive Maintenance and Repairs: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, AC, air brakes, lights, horn, lift and install heavy components and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies, etc.
Experience with fuel pump equipment and hoses.
Familiar with DOT and other rules and regulations as pertained to vehicle maintenance and compliance.
Keep a clean and safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards.
Maintain communication with drivers and management regarding maintenance and service of vehicles and equipment.
Accurately records all maintenance activity on company documentation.
Monitors Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) for commercial vehicles (Tractor Trailer, Bobtail, Fuel Trailer and Pick-up Trucks)
Perform all purchasing functions, such as issuing purchase orders (PO’s), etc.
Follows company policy and procedures in making all repairs.
Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) daily.
Operate company equipment in a safe and professional manner.
Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license required.
Must satisfactorily pass a drug, alcohol and background check.
Must be insurable with the company.
Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
Ability to work safely in a fast paced environment.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to speak, write and read the English language.
Frequently lift object weighing up to 40 pounds or more.
Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently.
Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb, reach, talk and hear.
Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for long periods of time.
